Data Sources
VestWealthy aggregates market data, news, and sentiment from a network of trusted third-party providers. We do not generate or curate primary market data ourselves.
Provider Types
- Real-time and historical market quotes and reference data.
- News aggregation and press-release feeds.
- Social sentiment and alternative data signals.
- Macroeconomic and calendar event data.
- Interest-rate data from the US Department of the Treasury, which publishes its daily nominal and real (TIPS) yield curves, plus its bill rates with CUSIPs, free, without an API key, and with open CORS headers. These are the primary source behind the withdrawal-rate, breakeven-inflation and T-bill-ladder figures on the retirement band; FRED republishes the same observations but requires a registered key.
- Fund expense ratios from the public Nasdaq quote service, and fund holdings from the published holdings files of the fund providers themselves. Used only to measure what a diversified index fund actually holds, and only for funds whose file can be verified by name.
- Retirement plan limits from the IRS, Medicare income-related premiums from CMS, and Social Security figures from the SSA. None of the three offers a machine-readable endpoint, so these are committed figures re-verified against the publishers’ own pages rather than fetched at runtime. Each carries its tax year on the page, and each is checked by a script that fails on drift.
Data Integrity
Market data may be delayed per exchange requirements and is subject to the latency, accuracy, and availability guarantees of each upstream provider. VestWealthy does not guarantee the timeliness, completeness, or accuracy of any data feed and is not liable for decisions made based on it.
A field returned as null means the upstream provider supplied no value. It is never silently replaced with an estimate, a previous close, or a zero.
Machine-Readable Interfaces
- OpenAPI 3.1 specification — the full contract for the public read-only API, including request schemas and nullable response fields.
- MCP server — exposes 8 market-data tools over JSON-RPC for AI agents. Integrations and assistants can call get_site_guide, get_stock_quote, search_symbols, get_market_news and others directly, receiving a cited answer with a
source_url. - RSS 2.0 news feed — the aggregated news stream. Each item links to the original publisher, not to a VestWealthy proxy page.
- US Treasury yield curves — the nominal and real (TIPS) curves plus bill rates, served CORS-open so it can be read directly from a browser or an agent. It carries no derived advice and no reader data: it is the published curve and the difference between the two curves, nothing else.
- Retirement Advisor — the limits, rates and lifecycle mixes behind the retirement band, with each figure’s own source and date. Fund holdings returns published holdings for up to six tickers.
- llms.txt — a short orientation file for language models and coding assistants, mapping questions to the right URL. llms-full.txt carries the same information as a point-in-time snapshot with timestamps attached.
- sitemap.xml — every indexable URL, including the full programmatic ticker set.
